Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas (260g drained / 15 oz can)
- 3 tbsp of lemon juice
- 2 tbsp of tahini (sesame paste)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 2 – 3 ice cubes
- A drizzle of olive oil to serve
- A pinch of paprika to serve

Step 1
Place chickpeas in a bowl of water and rub them together to peel them off (optional but gives the hummus an extra creamy texture).
Step 2
Drain and blend the chickpeas in a blender or food processor.
Add lemon juice, tahini, garlic, salt and ice cubes and blend until creamy (about 5 minutes).
Step 3
Taste and adjust the amount of salt or lemon if needed.
Step 4
Transfer the hummus to a plate or bowl, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika.
Enjoy as an appetizer on toast or with raw vegetables or as a side dish with falafels!
